Tesco's new product called 'Inflatable g*y best friend', wearing a pink top and bright blue shorts has caused fury among shoppers and gay rights supporters.

The decision to censor the word 'gay' from its product title was the reason behind the massive uproar on Twitter, where users expressed their rage and bewilderment at the 'blatant stereotyping' offered by this latest gaffe, Metro.co.uk reported.

Tesco has since taken the advert down and said that though the product description and picture are available to access on its online store, the costume is actually unavailable for purchase and had been that way for the last few months.

Recently, Asda and Tesco have been forced to withdraw and apologize for selling fancy dress outfits called 'mental patient' and 'psycho ward', as the items were insensitive to those with mental illnesses.
