A cooking team from San Antonio, Texas have entered the Guinness Book of World Records for making the world's largest pizza, which measured 46.64 square feet and weighed in at 100 pounds.

The Dirt Road Cookers, a group of eight caterers, took nearly 2 hours to bake the giant pie, the New York Daily News reported.

The team, which was led by head chef and owner Kurt Oefinger, was confirmed the record breakers by officials at the Guinness World Record museum, where they created their 100lb pizza.

Oefinger said that they never planned to set a new world record for the largest commercially available pizza, but since they were already doing it on a regular basis, they decided to go official with it.

The 30-year-old chef asserted that it felt nice to be officially recognized for their hard work.

The record was previously held by Big Mama's and Papa's Pizzeria in LA that has become a favorite with celebrities.
