Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej has gone back to hospital just weeks after being discharged.
The BBC quoted a statement issued by the palace, as saying that the king was undergoing tests at the Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, but did not say when he was likely to return to his home in the coastal city of Hua Hin.
The 87-year-old monarch, who has been unwell for some years, is widely respected as an arbiter in the country's divided political arena. His popularity stems from his long reign and he is seen as a pillar of stability in Thailand.
Although Adulyadej has no formal political role, but, many believe that he is needed now more than ever, as the country is being governed by the military, which assumed power in a coup last year.
