Eleanor Parker, who gained fame for her role of a baroness vying for the affections of Colonel Von Trapp, played by Christopher Plummer in 'The Sound of Music', has died at the age of 91.
According to a family friend Richard Gale, the Oscar nominated actress died due to complications from pneumonia, Fox News reported.
Gale said that Parker passed away peacefully, and that she was surrounded by her children at a medical facility near her home in Palm Springs.
