Reacting to rumours about a possible alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Janata Dal United (JD-U) leader Sharad Yadav said there will be no effect of this alliance in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
"There was a coalition between the Congress, the RJD and the LJP earlier also. But our party does not get affected by all these things," Sharad said.
"There will be no effect of their alliance in UP and Bihar. Let them do whatever they want," he added.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari trashed the news about a possible alliance between the two parties, terming it as 'speculative'.
"I think it is completely speculative. Ram Vilas Paswan heads a political party in Bihar. He has taken a stand which has been consistent with the principles of pluralism and secularism. Therefore if at all, there is anything which I playing out in public, then I think it is completely speculative," Tewari said.
"The person who chose to walkout of a government on the question of Gujarat pogrom ithink would really find it hard to take a U-turn considering the fact that all the issues arising out of this pogrom continues to remain unaddressed," he added.

Meanwhile, LJP leader Chirag Paswan maintained that there is no alliance between the LJP and the BJP, and said that a final decision will be taken only after the LJP's Parliamentary Board meeting.
"Until now, no decision has been taken regarding any alliance. Parliamentary Board meeting will be held and only after that things will become clear," said Chirag.
"We are not talking with anyone about a possible coalition. We are not talking with anyone from the BJP. Everything will be decided after meeting," he added.
On Sunday, LJP leader Suraj Bhaan had announced that talks have been on between the LJP and BJP regarding a possible alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"The alliance between the BJP and the LJP is confirmed. It will be officially announced soon," Bhaan had said.
LJP had earlier tied up with the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the Lok Sabha polls.
