Taking inspiration from movements such as "Beti Bachao,Beti Badhao", "HeforShe", Thespian Society staged a play 'Jan Se Maan Ki Jai Ho' depicting women inequality at Surtaal Theatre, Talkatora Garden in New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, play's director Raj Upadhyay spoke about its conception and said, "When the play was conceptualized, we realized that whatever has been the history of this civilization and even after passing through so many phases of revolutions, women in our society are still not being treated equally".

The production in its first part starts with the story of Padma Shri winner Arunima Sinha, a woman physically handicapped by unfortunate circumstances, however, her spirit and her dreams remained intact, which ultimately lead to her becoming the first ever Indian woman amputee to climb Mount Everest.

The second part of the play tells the heart wrenching story of a woman scarred for life, her only fault being, conceiving a girl child and suffering the consequences of wanting to save her child's life.

The plot then shifts focus to an unborn girl child, talking of her dreams, her hopes, her aspirations and her goals and how they will never see the light of day.

Spotted on the occasion were politicians like Vijay Goel, Meenakshi Lekhi, Somnath Bharti and Arti Mehra who were completely moved by the play's message.
