People with double chin need not get embarrassed any more as the Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug Kybella that will help to dissolve the fat under the chin.

Kybella is a Deoxycholic acid made by California's Kythera Biopharmaceuticals that is also produced in human's body to help absorb fat, but as a drug it will now be injected by a licensed dermatologist under the jawline right into the fat tissue, CNN reported.

Scientifically, this acid will destroy the cell membrane or "submental fat" under the chin and will vanish permanently from the wattle in few days after injecting into the tissues and also without any bandages, but with several seatings.

The scientists even found that while testing the new drug some people had nerve injury in the jaw that lead to a lopsided smile or facial weakness whereas some other testers were caused bruising, swelling, redness and pain.

Dr. Amy G. Egan, deputy director of the Office of Drug Evaluation III in the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, said that Kybella was only approved for the treatment of fat occurring below the chin, and was currently not safe or effective for treatment other than chin or neck.

Kybella will be commercially available in June 2015.
