Kerala Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas, who was reportedly accused by the Kerala Finance Inspection Wing (FIW) of irregularities in setting up solar units, handed over a letter to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Nalini Netto on Tuesday, requesting him to remove him from his post.

In the letter, Thomas cited personal reasons behind his decision. It is learnt that the letter has been sent to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) government will take the final decision in this regard.

Thomas was reportedly accused of financial irregularities in connection with a solar power project during his service as ports director, which he rejected.

As per reports, the Kerala Finance Inspection Wing (FIW) had recommended departmental action against him for alleged irregularities in setting up solar units at various ports department offices during 2013-14.
