Thousands of people in Moscow paid tribute to slain Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov by lighting candles and placing flowers at the site where he was shot dead, a report said.
An opposition march planned by Nemtsov in Moscow for Sunday turned into a memorial rally, reported the BBC.
While condemning Friday's killing as "vile and cynical," Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to find the killers.
However, Nemtsov's allies termed his murder a "political killing" and linked it to opposition to Putin and the Ukraine conflict.
