Authorities today recovered the bodies of a couple and their rescuer who had died on Sunday by falling into an open drain after being washed away by sewer water.
District Megistrate (DM) of the area Deepak Agarwal confirmed the report saying, "We have found all the three bodies, with the help of the locals. The rescue operation lasted for around 36 hours."
The couple landed in trouble as their bike fell into an under construction slurry sewer pit filled with rain water.
A resident Amit Kumar added, "A construction company had left the pit open, which had become large due to the heavy rains."
Love Kumar, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said, "The locals helped us in this rescue operation. The efforts of the local people are more than us.
