Flooding caused by a record-breaking and deadly downpour in Texas and Oklahoma has swept away hundreds of homes and killed at least three people.
Nearly 350-400 homes in Texas are gone, while 1,000 homes have been damaged and two main bridges have been washed away, the CNN quoted Kharley Smith, an emergency management coordinator in Hays County, Texas, as saying.
Fire Marshal Ken Bell was quoted, as saying that infrastructure had been damaged throughout the county as power lines were down and debris had blocked roadways. He added that the authorities were trying to ascertain the damage caused.
Meanwhile, weather forecasters have warned that new thunderstorms pushing through the area could lead to more heavy rainfall, and since the ground was already saturated, even a small amount of rain may cause devastation.
