At least three civilians were killed while another was injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district today.
The explosion took place near Saryam village in Nowshera area of Rajouri.
"Today at 7.35 a.m. an accident took place in which a mine blew off. A casualty of three non-state labourers has been recorded," said Jahangir Purushottam Lal, the village head.
An inquiry has been ordered into the blast.
"As soon as we got the information about the blast, we called our bomb disposing squad, they are clearing whole area. We are deliberately searching the area, an investigation is on. By the evening after complete checking is done we will know the exact reason whether it is in mine or not," said General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General A.R. Rao.
The deceased men were labourers hailing from Bihar.
