The Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) have confirmed the arrest of three Maoists sympathisers in Bihar's Gaya city.
Commandant of CRPF 159 battalion, Dheeraj Kumar, said they had a tip-off about the arms being supplied to the ultras, adding that his team had information about the movement of Maoists sympathisers near Gandhi Maidan area of Gaya city.
"On reaching there, we saw them walking in a suspicious manner holding sacks carrying something which appeared to be barrels. On taking a closer look, they appeared to be the same people. What followed next was chasing them and their apprehension. They fired one round as well," said Kumar.
The security personnel also recovered a huge cache of arms and cartridges, including a rifle, two US-made pistols, three rounds of magazines, one carbine, from the arrested sympathizers.
The arrested are being further interrogated by the security personnel.
