A bomb explosion at Agia village in Assam's Goalpara District claimed the lives of three United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) (Independent) militants here on Friday.
Local police said they suspected that an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was used in the blast.
The militants were staying in a local's house at the village close to Assam-Meghalya border, and had brought the bomb with them to blast it somewhere but it exploded inside the house.
Of late, militant activities of both ULFA and the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) are getting active in Golapara district and in the Assam-Meghalaya Border.
On July 23, a similar blast by suspected ULFA militants near a police station in Goalpara had claimed one life and injured three including a child.
