The girlfriend of American golf star Tiger Woods has put on hold her comeback to skiing as she continues her recovery from a serious knee injury.
Olympic downhill champion Lindsey Vonn, who injured her right knee on the opening day of the Alpine Ski World Championships in Austria, will not take part in the opening World Cup skiing event in the Austrian resort of Soelden this weekend.
According to CNN, although Vonn has returned to the slopes in Chile to test out her reconstructed knee less than seven months after her crash, she said that she is not yet ready to return to competitive action on the snow as she feels that she needs more training before she can start skiing again.
Stating that not competiting is very hard for her as patience is not her strong suit, Vonn, who became the first American woman to win the Olympic downhill title at the Vancouver Games in 2010, however, said that the Soelden race is not in the cards this year for her.
However, the skiing champion said that she plans to return at the World Cup event in Beaver Creek, Colorado on November 29 next year.
