Women and Child Development Minister Krishna Tirath will preside over the first meeting of National Mission Steering Group (NMSG) here tomorrow.
This is the first meeting of the steering group after the restructuring and strengthening of ICDS last year.
The issues to be discussed include the steps to be taken for operationalisation of the strengthened and restructured ICDS scheme, enhancing honorarium of Anganwadi workers of Mini Anganwadi Centers and implementation of intervention/activities for prevention and control of Japanese Encephalitis (JES)/ Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES).
The meeting shall be attended by member (WCD) planning commission, ministers-in-charge of WCD in Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Secretaries of States of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Rajasthan and Assam will also be present, along with representatives from line Ministries/ Departments of Expenditure, Rural Development, Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation, Health and Family Welfare, Panchayati Raj, School Education and Literacy, Agriculture, Social Justice and Empowerment, Food and Public Distribution.
In addition to this, experts from various fields are also invited such as Food Research, Agriculture and Food Engg. Department, Director (CECED), and Director, Nutrition Foundation of India, New Delhi.
