Communist Part of India leader Atul Anjaan lashed out at the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government here today, saying its actions in West Bengal mimic those of "political terrorism".

"West Bengal's TMC has given new meaning to political terrorism. Everyday, they are redefining it. They cannot hide their absurdities, with the way they have gone about their daily functioning", Anjaan said.

This reaction comes after the shocking comment that Anubrata Mondal, a TMC leader and state minister made at an election campaign meeting that encouraged partymen to 'attack' independent candidates in the on-going West Bengal panchayat elections.

"If any independent candidate threatens you, uproot his house, invade his house. Don't give vote to those independents," said Mondal, TMC Birbhum district president, Kasba village in Bolpur sub-division of West Bengal.

An enraged Anjaan also asked various political parties of the country to take note of the gravity of the incident and called on the central government to take strict action against the TMC.

"Mamata Banerjee's government is not talked about for its good deeds, but because of the political terrorism that they have adopted. Threatening independent candidates is the limit. These threats are extremely serious. All the political parties of the country must take note of it, and the central government must also hand them harsh punishment", Anjaan said.
