TMC MLAs Sabyasachi Dutta and Sovan Chatterjee are likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday.
Sabyasachi Dutta was the mayor of Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC), who stepped down from his post in July this year while Chatterjee was a former Kolkata Mayor.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had asked Chatterjee to resign from his post of minister and mayor in November last year following which he resigned from both posts.
Several TMC leaders joined the BJP after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
