Tom Hiddleston is being approached for the title role in MGM and Paramount Pictures' remake film, based on Lew Wallace's 1880 novel 'Ben-Hur
Though the bosses find the 33-year-old 'Thor' and 'The Avengers' star apt for the role of Judah Ben-Hur, the actor hasn't been confirmed since he already has some projects lined up, Deadline.com reported.
The film, which is to helmed by Timur Bekmambetov, had been scripted by Keith Clarke with Oscar-winning '12 Years A Slave' scribe John Ridley writing its last draft, while Mark Burnett and Roma Downey produce the project along with Sean Daniel and Joni Levin.
MGM had previously adapted the novel twice, once as 1925 silent film 'Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ' and other in 1959 titled 'Ben-Hur.'
The film is anticipated to release in 2016.
