British Labour Party politician Tony Blair's old school is facing sexual abuse allegations following a former pupil's claims that he was systematically abused by a long- serving headmaster.

The man who is now in his 60s reported the alleged abuse to The Chorister School's current headmistress Yvette Day and to Durham Police, Daily Star reports.

The man claimed that the previous head of the school, Canon John Grove abused him

during the late 1950s in his private quarters and in a school bathroom, adding that it took him many years of anguish before he has been able to talk to anyone about the abuse.

The man also said that the abuse has left him emotionally scarred and the latest scandals have made him recollect the terrible memories time and again.

While solicitor Liz Dux, of nationwide firm Slater and Gordon, said she was drafting a Letter of Claim stating that he intends to sue the school, the police said that they are unable to progress the inquiry because the suspect is dead.
