Additional Attorney General of Pakistan (AAGP) has told the Supreme Court that the federal government had instructed the Balochistan government to proceed against another ISI officer Brigadier Saddique who was allegedly involved in enforced disappearance of a citizen, Ali Ahmad Bangalzai.
Tariq Khokhar said that in compliance with its July 1 order, the interior secretary had ordered action against Saddique in view of the statement of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) senior leader and ex-MNA Hafiz Hussain Ahmad, the Daily Times reports.
According to the report, Ahmad said that Saddique had confirmed to him that Bangalzai was detained in their custody after being picked up from Quetta and would be back home soon.
The court has directed AAGP to furnish the copy of the interior secretary's letter that he had sent to Balochistan home secretary for the registration of an FIR against Sadique, the report added.
Meanwhile, the bench also issued a notice to the Balochistan advocate general asking him to submit a progress report on behalf of the provincial government.
