Tourists are making abeeline for the hill town of Shimla in Himachal Pradesh to enjoy white water rafting and the hot water springs.

Tattapani, which is about 55 kilometres away from Shimla, has become a favourite tourist destination owing to the opportunity for pursuing adventure sports and to enjoy the region's scenic beauty.

One of the main attractions drawing tourists is white water rafting in the Sutlej River.

Local travel agents confirm that there has been tourist influx during the winter season as people want to enjoy snowfall and other adventure activities.

"The rafting stretch from Chabba to Tattapani is a really nice one. It takes around one and a half hours to complete this stretch. In summers, we get lot of tourists for rafting but in winters too, tourists throng places like Kufri, Manali, Rohtang, etc for snowfall. People enjoy white water rafting, fishing point and hot water spring in Tattapani. The hotels here have pools which have hot water springs which are really good," said local travel agent, Umesh Kumar.

It hasn't snowed yet, but tourists are enjoying the beautiful hilly terrain.

White water rafting is giving people a thrilling experience and even local hotels are providing tourists with hot water pools.
