Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra has said that trade fair provide an opportunity to small firms and enterprises to showcase their products to the wider public.
"Being a MSME minister, I have noticed that products made by small enterprises fail to make a mark because of lack of marketing. Trade fairs like these provide such opportunity to these small firms to showcase their products," Mishra said, while inaugurating the 22nd International Guwahati Trade Fair (IGTF) at the Mani Ram Dewan Trade Centre on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Sayed Muazzem Ali, who was also present on the occasion, said that the India and Bangladesh governments are working towards economic freedom and development.
Emphasising on the importance on people-to-people contact, the Bangladesh High Commissioner further stated said that his government has asked the Indian government to open a Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Guwahati, which will help people with visa issues.
The IGTF concludes on February 15.
