The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for August 20 to ensure the smooth flow of traffic as the country celebrates Raksha Bandhan on Tuesday.
In order to minimize the inconvenience to the general public, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisory measures that commuters should take into consideration as there is expected to be traffic congestion on roads, affecting both public and private transportation in Delhi and New Delhi.
The roads affected would be Wazirabad Road, Road No. 66, Road No. 56 (ISBT Anand Vihar), GT Road Shahdara, Mathura Road (Near Badarpur), M.B. Road, NH-8 (Dhaula Kuan, Mahipalpur), Ring Road, Outer Ring Road, Najafgarh Road, Patel Road, Road No. 41 (Rohini), Connaught Place area, Karol Bagh area, Vikas Marg, Aurobindo Marg, Station Road, Kali Dass Marg, Pankha Road, Africa Avenue Marg, August Kranti Marg, Subhash Marg, J.B. Tito Marg, Press Enclave Road and Jai Road.
Traffic is expected to move slowly due to increased congestion throughout the city and
the general public and motorists have been advised to plan their journeys keeping extra time at hand.
The Delhi Traffic Police has also advised that commuters use Metro services and public transportation to avoid the overcrowded roads.
Additionally, motorists have been specifically advised to follow the directions of the traffic policemen deployed on the roads to avoid inconvenience.
