Train services on the Chittagong-Dhaka-Sylhet route have resumed after six hours of suspension caused by the removal of fishplates from the railway tracks in Comilla by miscreants on the fifth day of the countrywide non-stop blockade enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance.
The train services resumed around 11.30 a.m., the Daily Star quoted Anwar Hossain, the station master of Nangalkot, as saying.
The engine and a bogie of the Chittagong-bound Godhuli Express from Dhaka veered off the tracks near Nangalkot outer station around 5.15 a.m., but no one was hurt.
The railway line was later repaired by a personnel who arrived in a rescue train from Laksam.
