Union Road Transport and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday said that a quick and transparent decision making process would boost the growth of the highways sector.
"A quick and transparent decision making process, backed by decentralised power structure and a system of performance audit would go a long way in ensuring that departments are able to achieve the development work that they set out to do," Gadkari told media here.
"We were thinking of making our work time bound to help the nation develop and progress. I think this is the biggest key of success," he added.
Asserting that the vision of the transport department is clear under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gadkari further said, "Vision of administration is much more important compared to resources and technology."
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways today acquired ISO 9001:2008 certificate for monitoring, planning, development and maintenance of highway infrastructure and road transport throughout the country.
