Travis Dowlin joins WICB selection panel

Travis Dowlin, the former West Indies cricketer, has been added to the selection panel of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). Dowlin will begin official duties from January 1.

The 39-year-old hails from Guyana and represented them from 1997 to 2011, including as a captain in the 2009 season. In his career, he played 85 first-class matches, scoring 4,013 runs. The right-handed batsman's international career lasted one year, during which he played six Tests, 11 ODIs, and two T20Is. He scored one ODI century and three Test fifties during his short stint as an international cricketer.

Dowlin has been a cricket analyst for the past three years, at both regional and international levels and has done radio commentary for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and regional matches held in Guyana. He was also selected as a member of the radio commentary panel for the final leg of the recently concluded Tri-Series held in the West Indies.

He currently attends University of Guyana where he is pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications. He already holds a Diploma in Communications. Dowlin joins Courtney Browne - Chairman, Eldine Baptiste and Lockhart Sebastien to complete the panel.
