Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters on Sunday staged protest against Union Minister of State (MoS) for Railways, and West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president (WBPCC) Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
Angry TMC supporters, blocked the road of WBPCC chief, reportedly alleging that he was vitiating the peaceful atmosphere and reiterated that at any cost no communal flare-ups will be allowed here.
WBPCC chief, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Sunday hit back at the alleged inaction by the police and election commission officials. He stated that instead of acting against protestors they were just sitting like lame ducks.
He also lashed out at the West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee, for the current state of affairs in the state. Chowdhury asked Congress workers not to leave any booth unattended, irrespective of-the presence of police and election officials during polls tomorrow and asked them not to be afraid; else democracy will be at stake.
The last phase of the Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal tomorrow will see 17 Lok Sabha constituencies going to polls which include Beharampore, from where Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, who is representing the Congress is contesting.
