Travel review website TripAdvisor has announced Providenciales, Turks and Caicos as the world's best islands after voting by users.
According to ABC News, the annual Travelers' Choice Awards are based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers across the globe.
Award winners were determined using an algorithm that considered the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions on islands worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.
Maui island in Hawaii took the second spot followed by Roatan, Honduras and Santorini, Greece on the third and fourth positions respectively.
