Tripura welcomes new transboundary bus service to Kolkata via Dhaka

The people of Tripura have welcomed the new transboundary bus service between Agartala-Kolkata via Dhaka that was officially flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka today.

They expressed excitement at the huge benefit that the new bus service would provide for those going to Kolkata via Dhaka.

"There are advantages of the direct service. In the break-journey, we had to go up to Dhaka and there we had to change the bus and aboard a new bus. Now, this problem will no more be there. So, it will be a great help," said Dhruba Debnath, a regular visitor to Kolkata by bus via Dhaka.

Meantime, another visitor to Dhaka expressed his delight over the new direct bus service which will not only save time but also money especially for the poor people who often have go to Kolkata especially for treatment purposes and end up spending hefty amount for flight fare.

"We are very happy as now we can go to Kolkata via Dhaka in very short time and very less amount. There are flight services (Agartala-Kolkata), but often there is rush. So, the bus service will be of great help. We thank the governments for this," said Bisu Dey, a visitor to Dhaka.
