England batsman Jonathan Trott has laughed off Australian spin legend Shane Warne's criticism of England captain Alastair Cook, saying that it is amusing especially when England is 3-0 up in the Ashes.

According to the Daily Star, Warne has been highly critical of Cook's leadership during the Old Trafford and the Durham Tests, labelling him 'defensive and negative', and tweeting that Cook is having a 'horror' with his captaincy in those two Tests.

However, Trott firmly supported Cook, saying that although every person is entitled to their opinions, he is quite baffled and amused by Warne's caustic criticisms given that England is 3-0 up in the Ashes.

Stating that Cook's successful record speaks for himself as a captain, Trott further said that he felt that Cook has huge respect from his side with his uncompromising team-talks and ability to lead from the front, adding that he has captained in those two Tests in the same way he had been doing since he became a skipper.

The No.3 batsman has said that he has been impressed by the way that Cook has led the team since taking over from Andrew Strauss almost a year ago, adding that he thought that Cook's captaincy was fantastic in the first Test as he got England over the line even when it would have been very easy for a captain to start chasing the game.

England is unbeaten in four series, winning three including a historic triumph in India, the report added.
