Pope Francis appears to have left his mark on U.S. President Donald Trump as they had their first face-to-face meeting at the Vatican on Wednesday.
"Thank you. I won't forget what you said," Trump said in his parting words.
The discussuion was described as "cordial" in a statement by the Vatican, which said "satisfaction was expressed" for the good U.S. relationship with the Vatican and their "joint commitment in favour of life , and freedom of worship and conscience."

Neither Trump nor the Pope released their official statements regarding the point of conversation ,but read outs from the White House and the Vatican highlighted terrorism, climate change and peace as issues that were discussed, the CNN reported.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said terrorism and climate change were discussed.

The two men discussed "the promotion of peace in the world through political negotiation and interreligious dialogue" and homed in on the need to protect Christians in the Middle East, CNN quoted the Vatican statement.
The two leaders have diametrically opposing views on various issues ranging from immigration, Mexico wall and climate change.
During campaign,Trump has promised to ban Syrian refugees, stoke anti-Muslim sentiment in the US and promise to build a wall on the US-Mexico border
In February last year, Pope Francis responded without naming Trump saying "a person who only thinks about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian.
