United States President Donald Trump on Saturday thanked former President Jimmy Carter for 'nice remarks' after Carter said that the media is hard on Trump.
In a tweet post, Trump wrote, "Just read the nice remarks by President Jimmy Carter about me and how badly I am treated by the press (Fake News). Thank you Mr. President!"
"The media have been harder on Trump than any other president", said Carter in an interview with the New York Times last weekend.
Trump commonly uses the term "fake news" to describe negative press coverage.
Meanwhile, Trump also touted the ascent of the American economy.
"Very little reporting about the GREAT GDP numbers announced yesterday (3.0 despite the big hurricane hits). Best consecutive Q's in years!," Trump posted on Twitter.
The nation's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded at an annual rate of 3 percent in the third quarter of 2017, reported the Hill, quoting Commerce Department.
The growth comes despite Hurricanes Harvey and Irma hit the US states.
