The White House has clarified that despite the delay, United States President Donald Trump would soon sign the Russia sanctions bill.
White House spokeperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders, while addressing a press briefing on Tuesday, blamed the delay on a legal process.
"There's nothing holding him back. There's a review process, a legal process. They're going through that. He'll sing the bill and we'll let you know," she said.
The Russia sanctions bill was earlier overwhelmingly approved in the Congress, by both Republicans and Democrats.
It has been on Trump's desk since last week, but he hasn't signed it yet.
A lot has conspired since the last time the bill was talked about in the media.
Trump is certainly under a lot of pressure to sign the sanctions bill into law.
