Tsipras says Greeks were 'brave' in rejecting bailout referendum

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has said the people of Greece made a "brave choice" in rejecting the conditions of the international bailout referendum.

According to the BBC, he said that Greeks made a brave choice despite the unfavourable conditions last week.

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis announced his resignation after the bailout referendum result as French and German leaders prepare to hold emergency talks.

Thousands of people celebrated waving flags through the night in the centre of Athens after 61.3 percent voters chose the "No" vote.
