The first body from the crashed Russian Tu-154 airplane has been found six km from Sochi coastline in the Black Sea.
"A body of a person who died in Russia's Defence Ministry's Tu-154 airplane crash has been found six km away from Sochi coastline. The body has been lifted on board of the rescue vehicle," Sputnik news quoted Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov as saying.
Konashenkov said that earlier on Sunday a total of 92 people were on board of Tu-154 that departed from Sochi at 5.20 a.m. local time which disappeared from radars about 20 minutes after takeoff.
There were 84 passengers and 8 crew members on board.
Meanwhile, Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case into the crash.
"A criminal case into the Tu-154 crash was initiated, according to Article 351 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, 'Failure to comply with the rules of flight security and preparation,'" said committee representative Svetlana Petrenko.
