Turkish jets killed 13 suspected Kurdish PKK fighters even they struck a target in northern Iraq on Wednesday, the armed forces said in a statement.
"In an air strike in northern Iraq, 13 armed members of a separatist terrorist organisation preparing for an attack were neutralised," the statement said.
The term 'separatist terrorist organisation' is used by Turkey to describe Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants.
The PKK has been waging an insurgency in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast since the 1980s.
Earlier, at least five Kurdistan Workers' Party or the PKK terrorists were killed during a gunfight with security forces in southeastern Hakkari province.
