In a shocking incident, two minors were stamped with an entry seal on their faces by the staff of the Bhopal Central jail as record of their entry into the prison.
This incident happened when they reached to meet their imprisoned relatives on Raksha Bandhan at the Bhopal Central Jail on Monday.
Speaking to ANI, the jailer of Bhopal Central jail said, "Roshni Rajput who was entrusted with the duty of stamping seal has been suspended. We have ordered a probe into the 'stamping on face' incident. I condemn it."
However, the jail authorities have described the stamping incident as an unintentional act as in the jail, there has been a practice of stamping visitor's hands at the time of entry.
Meanwhile, jail superintendent Dinesh Nargave said, "The seal might have been put mistakenly on their faces of the two children as over 8,500 people, mostly women and children, visited the jail for Raksha Bandhan."
