British professional boxer Tyson Fury's coach has insisted the heavyweight world title hopeful never retired despite his fighter's protestations to the contrary, according to reports.
According to Metro.co.uk, Fury, 25, revealed in a series of tweets recently that he had decided to quit boxing following David Haye's withdrawal from their planned February date in Manchester.
It was the second time Haye had walked away from a proposed fight with Fury, and this time he claimed he had been told to retire on medical advice following shoulder surgery, the report said.
However, he returned to the social network last Thursday with two tweets, which offered up a wish list of opponents for 2014, intimating he will make a comeback if he gets one of the fights he wants, the report added.
Peter Fury, who trains his nephew, was firm in his stance that the 25-year-old had never actually quit the ring, the report mentioned.
