Charge d'affaires of U.S. embassy in Delhi, MaryKay Loss Carlson on Wednesday welcomed the launch of direct flight between New Delhi and Washington D.C.
"It's a great opportunity there are so many Indians and Americans flying back and forth. Each year, we are seeing an increase in travel and tourism between our two countries and student travel as well. The sky is the limit in terms of the opportunities between our two countries," she told ANI in an exclusive interview.
Talking about the H-1B issue, she said, "It is still under consideration by the U.S. Congress."
However, the H-1B Visa issue did not figure in talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the latter's visit to U.S.
Trump signed an executive order in April for tightening the rules of the H-1B Visa programme to stop visa abuses as he promoted 'America first'.
