The United States leaders of the House and Senate intelligence committees have said the recent revelations and public scrutiny of the NSA and other intelligence networks have damaged their anti-terror efforts, while terror threat in America is growing with time.

Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Mike Rogers said that the U.S. intelligence is fighting about the relevance of its role in the nation and this is adversely affecting their ability to stop terror threats, Fox News reports.

He said that the terror group Al Qaeda has continued to grow and consolidate with time making Americans less safe than they were in the past years.

He affirmed that Al Qaeda and its affiliates have been pooling their strength in places like Syria and they have changed the way they communicate, which means it's less likely that the intelligence communities will be able to detect something prior to a terror attack.

Rogers further added that the terrorists are adopting the idea that maybe smaller events are better off to achieve their goals.

Meanwhile, Senator Dianne Feinstein attributed the growing threat to improved weaponry.
