The U.S. State Department has reportedly said that there is no time to send a special envoy to resolve the Kashmir dispute, while efforts are being made to encourage dialogue between India and Pakistan for establishing peace.

According to the Dawn, State Department spokesperson Marie Harf accepted that Washington is particularly concerned about a war-like situation emerging due to the LoC cross-border firing between the two countries.

The statement comes after there were reports of senseless firing on the borders leading to increased tensions and political threats between the two South Asian rivals.

Earlier, Harf had also said that the Kashmir dispute was not related to the terrorism issue in South Asia and had to be dealt differently.
