United State Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will travel to Beijing on September 28 (Thursday) for a three-day visit to discuss the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula with senior Chinese leaders.
Tillerson will discuss a range of issues, including the President's planned travel to the region, and trade and investment.
The U.S. State Department in a statement said that, "Secretary Tillerson will discuss a range of issues, including the President's planned travel to the region, the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, and trade and investment."
This will be Tillerson's second visit to China which is a close ally of North Korea. The visit comes during the escalating rhetoric between the U.S. and North Korea.
U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to visit China in November, said the reports.
Tillerson's visit to China reaffirms the Administration's commitment to further broaden and enhance U.S. economic and security interests in the Asia-Pacific region.
