Terming India as an important counter-terrorism partner, Jen Psaki, spokesperson for the United States Department of State, said here on Tuesday that as a part of the discussions India joining THE U.S. coalition against ISIL, we have updated them (India) on our efforts that are underway.

Psaki said, "Well, certainly, India is an important counter-terrorism partner. Obviously, as a part of the discussions, we updated them on our efforts that are underway. There's a role for any country to play, but we'll let them speak to any planned engagement they have."

When asked if U.S. is prepared to address 6/11 Mumbai 2008 attacks in which were also six Americans died Psaki said, "We all felt the pain of that terrible attack."

"I don't have any update on that in particular. I will see if there was more discussion," she added.
