The United States has issued an ultimatum to Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai for signing the security pact, failing which the troops will exit the nation in 2014.
The White House said that the U.S. will be left with no choice, but to initiate planning total withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, in case Karzai does not sign the deal immediately, the Washington Times reports.
The statement came after Karzai tried to outline new conditions for the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) in a meeting with U.S. envoy Susan Rice.
Karzai has denied signing the agreement till next year's elections, saying that the U.S. should assure the polls to be conducted peacefully.
