With lifestyles changing fast, and the government's emphasis on the need for hygiene under the Swachch Bharat programme, a three-day fair focused solely on the kitchen and bath industry began on August 21.

The latest trends in this sector are on display at the fair, said the acting managing director of UBM India, Yogesh Mudras.

UBM India has organised the event.

Mudras said, "Today in India, while the modular kitchen market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 42.93 percent by 2018, the sanitary ware will see a growth between 12-15 percent. With India's luxury market estimated to grow 86 percent in constant value terms between 2013 and 2018, urban India's growth in corporate environment and the rising middle-class population's per capita income, the industry is expected to further grow in the coming years."

The fair provides the fast growing construction industry an opportunity to have a look at the kitchen and bath industry and the rapid developments taking place making these more than their functional value.

The fair would have on display products by top line manufacturers like Oyster, Viega and TTK, whose products have made a name for themselves not only in the domestic, but also in the international market.

It is because of this growing interest in kitchen and bathroom that an exclusive pavilion for the kitchen industry with an integrated platform will be on display at the expo.

"Our kitchens are following the footsteps of Swacch Bharat and are available with systems to felicitate city severs," said Rajesh Bhasin, a maker of modular kitchen and hardware.

The market in the northern region is viewed as a predominant hub for the sanitary and kitchen industries.

The fair will also have an exclusive pavilion for the kitchen industry. A demo by celebrity chef Ranveer Brar is also an added attraction.
