UEFA president Michel Platini has said that teams can play in the Champions League or Europa League even if they breach Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules.
Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are understood to be among about 20 clubs dealt with by UEFA's Club Financial Control Board (CFCB) earlier this month, with those facing action to be announced on May 5.
According to the Daily Express, however, Platini said that although tough penalties would be issued, the maximum punishment of exclusion from European competition would not be applied this time, adding that significant sanctions will affect big clubs.
Platini further said that those expecting 'blood and tears' from European clubs for breaching FFP rules will be disappointed this time.
