Ugandan Police has issued a high alert over warnings of a possible mall type attack similar to the one that took place in Nairobi, Kenya last month.
The United States embassy in Uganda confirmed it was continuing to assess reports that a Westgate Mall-style attack might soon occur in national capital Kampala, News24 reports.
The al-Qaeda linked extremists group threatened this week through rallies and propaganda posters in Somalia that "Westgate was just the beginning", the report added.
The al-Shahab group claimed responsibility for the Westgate attack last month, which claimed nearly 67 lives, as a revenge for Kenya military action against the group in southern Somalia.
