Ellen Fox, who celebrated her 100th birthday recently, has revealed that secret behind her long life is having whiskey after breakfast.

The former show dancer, who was born before the outbreak of the First World War, reckons that she managed to reach the mature century milestone because she loved life and enjoyed a daily dram of whiskey, Metro.co.uk reported.

Fox, who has three daughters, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren said that When she looks back at her life she certainly sees being married to a wonderful man with whom she has a large loving family.

On Fox's birthday, which was celebrated at her care home in Charlton, some other super-centenarians also credited something to their remarkable longevity like Jeanne Calment recommended olive oil and chocolate, Gertrude Baines prescribed crispy bacon and ice cream and Edna Parker swore by eggs and sausage.
