The Football Association of Britain has said that it has no interest in hosting the 2018 or 2022 World Cups if they are taken away from respective hosts Russia and Qatar.
Contradicting UK Culture Secretary John Whittingdale's statement that England could step in as a ready-made replacement if asked by FIFA, FA chief executive Martin Glenn his organization was really not interested to be a 2018 and 2022 World Cup bidder, reports the BBC.
Glenn said that the 2018 tournament has gone to Russia in good faith, and the 2022 event was never going to be held in Europe as per FIFA rules.
He was speaking as Swiss investigators continue with their probe of seven senior FIFA officials who have been arrested among 14 indicted on corruption charges by the United States Department of Justice.
